Case studies

Improving usability for contact form submissions for the UKs largest infrastructure contractor.

What we did

We undertook a website user review with a focus on underperforming pages including the contact form.

Background

Our client had nearly 400 form submissions over the last 3 months but while reviewing recordings we discovered users were left confused after submitting the form because there was no confirmation message/page. This led to users filling out the form multiple times or looking at alternative ways to contact because they didn’t think the form had been submitted.

Our solution & outcome

This contact form was an important lead generator for our client so was set to high priority to resolve. Following the review, we immediately added a new page that informed the user their submission was successful and thanked them for filling it out.
Having reviewed the website sessions since we implemented the new page, we have seen no issues.

Reviewing site updates on an
e-commerce store.

What we did

Post-launch user review of updates to an existing website.

Background

Haven taken over the management of the website, we could immediately see issues with the usability of the site. We made significant changes to the navigation and checkout page as well as other minor tweaks across the site.
To check these new changes were working as expected we carried out a UX review where we focused our sessions and heatmaps on the amended areas of the site.

Outcome

After carrying out the review we could see the majority of the changes were successful, while also noticing some additional pain points and bugs which we then created an action list for and resolved.

Discovering and resolving poor lead
generation for a life science company.

What we did

UX review for a new client on their current website to help improve the overall user experience.

Background

We discovered users were not clicking on key call to actions (CTAs), which was a primary goal for the site.
As we reviewed the recorded sessions we could see that there weren’t enough CTAs on the site, the CTAs they had were not in the correct place and the messaging was too generic and not user targeted.

Our solution & outcome

We worked with them on a new set of personas and subsequently created targeted call to actions. We then added them to parts of the site we knew that type of user would be reading. We also carried out additional user testing where we talked to some of their customers to understand why the current CTAs didn’t resonate with them and got them to compare the old ones with our new ones.
